Made with CORTEN steel, Cradled in two hard wood posts. The Bath itself is not fixed to the posts as this makes it easy to empty out old water and refresh.
The inside of the bath is lined with a water proofing agent so as to keep the water becoming polluted by the steel. This also has the affect of giving the water a mirror finish reflecting the sky and surrounding garden.
Wat is CORTEN Steel?
Corten steel, also known as weathering steel, a steel alloy that develops a stable, rust-like protective layer, called a patina, when exposed to the elements, eliminating the need for painting and offering high durability and a unique aesthetic. Its name is derived from its corrosion resistance and high tensile strength. The alloy includes copper, chromium, and nickel, which promotes the formation of the protective, decorative patina.
SIZE. 240 cm long and standing 80 cm tall but the hight can be adjusted by altering the way the two posts are installed and mounted.
Instalation can vary according to your requirments’s. An easy way I use is installing two star pickets into the garden bed and then screwing the hardwood posts to them. I find this dose minimal damage to the garden and gives a great opportunity to vary the hight.
All other options of securing a post are also viable.
